Group Therapy

Growing Strong

The Growing Strong Group is a structured, skill-building group designed for children ages 7–9 who experience difficulties with emotional regulation, impulsivity, and managing strong emotional responses. In a supportive and developmentally appropriate environment, participants learn evidence-based strategies to increase self-control, emotional awareness, and adaptive coping.

Through structured games, guided activities, and facilitated discussion, children practice skills including taking breaks, using positive self-talk, safely expressing frustration, identifying emotional triggers, problem-solving, and making responsible choices. The group emphasizes practice, repetition, and generalization of skills to everyday settings.

This group is particularly beneficial for children demonstrating characteristics commonly associated with ADHD and related self-regulation challenges.
