Our Philosophy

You are the expert of your own life! But we are passionate about working alongside you to provide the tools and support to help you navigate through its ups and downs. We believe that while the present is the only thing you can change, it is sometimes necessary to look back into your past in order to improve your future. While it can be a challenging journey at times, it is one we would be honoured to walk through with you.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Consellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, and specialize in the treatment of adults. I am passionate about the preservation of harmony in relationships and families. In addition, as a military spouse and mother of two, my counselling passions include supporting military personnel and their families as well as helping pre- and post-natal women navigate through the wonderful, yet unique challenges of motherhood. It is important to me to exhibit flexibility in offering you a number of evidence-based, scientific treatments because I do not believe that therapy is a "one size fits all" endeavour. It is a very personal journey which should be customized to fit your situation, strengths, personality, and goals. I am also trained in the provision of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of acute and chronic traumas, anxiety, depression, addictions, phobias, and grief.

I hold a Master in Education degree, with a concentration in Counselling, and specialize in the treatment of teenagers and adults. I have worked with individuals encountering various issues in their lives such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, family related issues, and work related issues, as well as individuals experiencing crisis - including suicidal ideation, addictions, and domestic violence. I am passionate about supporting clients in their relationships and improving interpersonal communication, whether it is with a partner or spouse, child or parent, friendships, work relationships, or even your relationship with yourself. Relationships are not only a neccessary part of life but they can also add to its enrichment.

In our fast-paced culture, it can be difficult to focus on bettering our personal wellbeing, which is why I am dedicated to offering clients a safe and supportive space where they can openly explore the nature of their struggles. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling and Spirituality, and I offer fully bilingual services to individuals, couples, and families of all ages. I work with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, relational issues, and many more and I use a combination of therapeutic approaches with my clients to ensure that our work fits their specific needs. Although therapy can feel daunting at first, I strongly believe that it can also be freeing and empowering. For this reason, I hope to help clients achieve their goals while enjoying our work together.

I am a graduate of the Masters of Counselling and Spirituality program at Saint Paul University. I am motivated in helping people heal and discover ways of dealing with life’s struggles in a way that builds resilience and self-compassion. My approach is to assist my clients to learn the skills necessary to develop deeper relationships with themselves and others. I use a collaborative approach to guiding people as they heal, transition, and discover new ways of coping and facing their challenges.  I build an environment based on trust, safety, and compassion and above all non-judgement. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches such as internal family systems, cognitive-behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients reach their potential and goals.  My experience has prepared me to counsel adolescents, adults, families and couples struggling with self-esteem, anxiety/depression, grief/loss, relationship concerns, and/or general life transitions.  While we cannot change past experiences, we can work together to better understand, act on and resolve challenges and situations in your life, as they present today

I am currently completing my hours towards a Masters of Counselling Psychology degree as a clinical intern at Brown Counselling. I am also a qualifying member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Prior to becoming a member of the CRPO, I completed an Honors undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Carleton University and a post-graduate in Addiction Treatment and Prevention at Georgian College.

Throughout my time in scholastic and vocational endeavors, I have had the opportunity to participate in training for multiple evidence-based treatment modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. In many of my vocational experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with youth in varying capacities and working with this population has become a passion of mine.

As a therapist, it is important to me that I approach my sessions from a place of compassion that creates an open, non-judgemental environment for my clients. The focus of my work is to remain client centered and to move in accordance with the clients’ strengths and needs in order to support them in meeting their identified goals.
