You are the expert of your own life! But we are passionate about working alongside you to provide the tools and support to help you navigate through its ups and downs. We believe that while the present is the only thing you can change, it is sometimes necessary to look back into your past in order to improve your future. While it can be a challenging journey at times, it is one we would be honoured to walk through with you.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Consellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, and specialize in the treatment of adults. I am passionate about the preservation of harmony in relationships and families. In addition, as a military spouse and mother of two, my counselling passions include supporting military personnel and their families as well as helping pre- and post-natal women navigate through the wonderful, yet unique challenges of motherhood. It is important to me to exhibit flexibility in offering you a number of evidence-based, scientific treatments because I do not believe that therapy is a "one size fits all" endeavour. It is a very personal journey which should be customized to fit your situation, strengths, personality, and goals. I am also trained in the provision of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of acute and chronic traumas, anxiety, depression, addictions, phobias, and grief.
I hold a Master in Education degree, with a concentration in Counselling, and specialize in the treatment of teenagers and adults. I have worked with individuals encountering various issues in their lives such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, family related issues, and work related issues, as well as individuals experiencing crisis - including suicidal ideation, addictions, and domestic violence. I am passionate about supporting clients in their relationships and improving interpersonal communication, whether it is with a partner or spouse, child or parent, friendships, work relationships, or even your relationship with yourself. Relationships are not only a neccessary part of life but they can also add to its enrichment.
In our fast-paced culture, it can be difficult to focus on bettering our personal wellbeing, which is why I am dedicated to offering clients a safe and supportive space where they can openly explore the nature of their struggles. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling and Spirituality, and I offer fully bilingual services to individuals, couples, and families of all ages. I work with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, relational issues, and many more and I use a combination of therapeutic approaches with my clients to ensure that our work fits their specific needs. Although therapy can feel daunting at first, I strongly believe that it can also be freeing and empowering. For this reason, I hope to help clients achieve their goals while enjoying our work together.
Every person has their own unique personalities, strengths, and challenges. This is why I am committed to working collaboratively with clients using integrative and evidence-based approaches tailored to best suit the needs and goals of each client. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality with a specialization in couple and family therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families on issues such as depression, anxiety, infidelity, grief, communication, PTSD, self-esteem, anger, and trauma. I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for clients to address issues and engage in self-exploration. It is my hope that through our work together, clients gain a sense of empowerment while developing the tools and skills needed to overcome issues and achieve their goals.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree. I am passionate about working with adults and adolescents to overcome a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, and other interpersonal struggles. As both a wife and a mother of three children, I am also interested in helping others through the various transitions that life can bring such as career changes, parenthood, divorce, and grief counselling. By helping individuals discover and use their personal strengths, it is my hope to support clients along their personally-guided journey towards a greater sense of peace, ease, and happiness.
I am currently in my final year of the Masters of Counselling and Spirituality program at Saint Paul University. I am motivated in helping people heal and discover ways of dealing with life’s struggles in a way that builds resilience and self-compassion. My approach is to assist my clients to learn the skills necessary to develop deeper relationships with themselves and others. I use a collaborative approach to guiding people as they heal, transition, and discover new ways of coping and facing their challenges. I build an environment based on trust, safety, and compassion and above all non-judgement. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches such as internal family systems, cognitive-behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients reach their potential and goals. My experience has prepared me to counsel adolescents, adults, families and couples struggling with self-esteem, anxiety/depression, grief/loss, relationship concerns, and/or general life transitions. While we cannot change past experiences, we can work together to better understand, act on and resolve challenges and situations in your life, as they present today
As a Registered Therapist (CRPO) with a person-centered, strength-based approach, I have the rewarding opportunity of supporting clients through a variety of issues related to mental well-being such as anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships. My hope is to facilitate insight, empowerment, and coping strategies through a sincerely shared experience in therapy. With a passion for tackling mental health in sport, I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality (individual counselling) and a Master of Human Kinetics in Intervention and Consultation (health and performance psychology). I am also currently the Mental Health Coordinator for Varsity Sport at the University of Ottawa, the Mental Performance Coach for their Women's Basketball Team, and the Educator of Performance Psychology at The School of Dance.
Through the provision of support and guidance, my desire is to bring hope to those who want to overcome life's obstacles, improve their relationships and become healthy, productive individuals. I utilize a variety of evidence-based orientations and therapies, according to the client's needs, strengths, personality, and goals. While I thoroughly enjoy working with both teens and adults, one of my counselling passions include supporting and helping adolescents as they go through the ups and downs of school, relationships, family and social issues, and other challenges teen years bring. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counselling. I am also a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists as well as a Registered Psychotherapist through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
